um installation in Centos using RPM:
Download the suitable RPM based on the server architecture from the link given below.
Here I have considered my server OS as Centos 5.5 (64 bit kernel)
Let’s see the steps to install yum.
1. wget http://mirror.centos.org/centos-5/5.5/os/x86_64/CentOS/yum-3.2.22-26.el5.centos.noarch.rpm
2. rpm -ihv –nodeps yum-2.4.3-1.c4.noarch.rpm
3. yum makecache
Now yum is installed in the server. 🙂
